Sketchable Drawing of a White Rhino

This drawing was done using Sketchable, a Windows 10 app. https://siliconbenders.com/blog/
This is my go to sketching and doodling app. It is extremely fast, loaded with features, and inexpensive to boot. The drawing was done using only two of the new pencil brushes and an eraser. A new version was released today, 5/23/17.

Corel Webinar Image

The complete image that I did for a Corel Webinar using Painter. I was very happy with the turnout but felt bad that GoToWebinar is limited to 500 attendees. Anyway, here is the image. It is always a challenge to do an image in about an hour so this is not as finished as I would normally do.

The webinar recording is at:

I'm doing a webinar later this month. It's free.

A magical forest will come to life before your eyes but I think I might make it a creepy one. No little birds. Maybe a bat or two.

ISKN Sketch Movie

Trying out a new toy I bought called the Slate.
http://www.iskn.co/

Not completely sold but it is interesting so far because you can record your sketch as a movie. That is really cool!

A larger version can be found here. http://www.seegmillerart.com/birdysketch.html The links are not set up yet so this is probably the only way to find it. Eventually, on you tube.

Portrait

The usual sketch thing. Best way to decompress there is. Image found on Pinterest. Watercolor, Prismacolor, white gouache.

Caveman?

Drawn from a strange little photo I found on Pinterest. Is it a caveman or Uncle Fester's brother? Anyway, it is black and white Prismacolor pencils, some black Prismacolor watercolor pencil, some white gouache, and just a bit of post processing in Photoshop to add some splatter. The paper is some generic scrapbook card stock that I got on sale at Michael's.

It was a fun draw done in the evening when things slow down. Took about an hour or so.

Sketchable image

Sketchable is one of my favorite drawing programs. Extremely fast and in the newest version very feature rich. I did this bird a couple evenings ago in about 90 minutes. I could have been faster but I tend to noodle things.

The program is for Windows 10. You can App in the Windows 10 store.

Strange guy

Krum is kind of a strange little guy. Socially awkward and doesn't dance well. He is fond of large round rocks, checkered overalls, bare feet, and listening to Tangerine Dream music.

He is done with black and white prismacolor pencils with some texture added in Photoshop.

Jack-o-Lantern

This was a 90 minute total demonstration for my Media Techniques 1 class this last week. It is oil paint and 8 x 8 inches. It was a fun exercise. Couldn't post it earlier because the paint was too wet to scan the image.

Until next October......

Better Late Than Never

Loosing my father last month put me behind in lots of things. One of the casualties has been my Halloween drawings.
Tonight is the first time I have had enough energy to post anything. Here goes.

These are two rather small pen drawings. The first is the original Uncle Fester (Jackie Coogan) and the second is Frankenstein (Boris Karloff). I used a Pentel Arts Slicci 0.25 mm Extra Fine Gel Pen. I like these pens for quick sketches. They have a very fine tip but don't last very long.

I really don't like self portraits.

I have never much liked doing self portraits. Actually, I hate doing self portraits so here are a couple of portraits of other human beings. There is a story behind them I am sure, I just don't know what it is.

These are done in graphite on Strathmore 100% Cotton writing paper. I love this particular paper for drawing even though it is small enough for a clipboard.

The last fourteen!

Instead of breaking the last group into smaller chunks, here are the last 14 drawings. I do hope they make you smile a bit. I am noticing some interesting tendencies when I look at larger groups of work together. Hmmmm, have to work on those.

On the downward slope now. Just a few more.

Heading toward the end of the group.

Guess I have finally worked out my creative funk.

Nothing like a little work to get things rolling. Ten more.
